Operation Instructions

Initial Setup

1. Power On: Display flashes 1:00 PM; press any key to activate.

Operating Modes

1. Heat: Activates heat when below setpoint; flame icon.
2. Cool: Activates cool when above setpoint (after lockout); snowflake icon.

Advanced Features

1. Adaptive Recovery: Starts early to reach setpoint on time; learns over 4-8 days.

Troubleshooting

• Display Off: Check power/mounting; replace batteries.
  
• Setpoint Not Changing: Limits reached (heat 55-85°F, cool 65-99°F).
  
• No Heat: System not Heat; setpoint below room; wait lockout (up to 5 min).
  
• No Cool: System not Cool; setpoint above room; wait lockout.
  
• System On but No Air: Fan Auto (runs with equipment); equipment not responding.
  
• Filter Flashing: Replace filter; reset timer.
  
• Persistent: Contact Trane (1-877-880-3381).

Installation Instructions

Warning: Qualified personnel only. Disconnect power. Follow lockout/tagout. Comply with codes.

Pre-Installation

• Location: 5 ft above floor, interior wall; good circulation; avoid drafts/sun/heat/pipes/unconditioned areas.
  
• Tools: Screwdriver, level, wire strippers.
  
• Wire: 18-22 AWG; common required; label wires; recycle old mercury thermostat.

4. Perform self-test: Heat/Cool/Em Heat/Fan/Aux/Filter/Comfort-R.
   
5. Set user day/time/program.
